Thirsty Thursdays: Testimony

-->
-->Testimony. In law it is said to be a declaration by a witness under oath, as that given before a court or a deliberative body; Evidence in support of a fact or assertion; Proof.  In religion it can be a public profession of some religious experience aka your story of some particular event or situation in which God has done something for you worth sharing.  They may seem different but they are quite the same differing only in the subject matter (what you are testifying about).

God has done so many things for each and every one of us. We all are witnesses and can declare/share before someone else or a group about his wondrous works. Some big, some small, some we may have not realized or recognized it was the work of God. “5 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! 6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot, come let us rejoice in him.” Can you recall a situation in which God has worked something out on your behalf? Reading Psalms chapter 66 reminded me of a few of the blessings that God has provided for me. Which helped me realize how much I need to praise him and say thank you. “1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth! 2 Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. 3 Say to God ‘how awesome are your deeds!”

Our journey is not always easy. Everyone likes sunny days but just like you can't have a rainbow with out rain, you won't have a testimony without going through a tough situation; a test. Through it all remember to continually praise him. Not only for his unconditional love, blessings or past situations he brought you through but also in faith knowing that he will bring you out of this current situation.  “8 Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; 9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. 10 For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver…12…we went through the fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance” He will be with you and he will restore you. Continue to praise and worship his holy name. Peace be with you.
