Warrior Wednesdays: Loyalty

Loyalty is one of the most important characteristics one can have. It is the most selfless part of love. People  who are loyal are dedicated to their commitments. Loyalty, is often tested under high pressure situations. It is during these times when true loyalty is revealed. Jonathan, is a great example of loyalty. He was often forced to deal with conflicting loyalties: to his father Saul and to his friend David. He resolved the conflict by being loyal and allowing truth to guide him.

Jonathan's ultimate loyalty was to God. It was his relationship with God that gave Jonathan the ability to deal effectively with the complicated situations in his life. Since Jonathan's father and best friend were at odds Jonathan had to rely on God to guide him through the conflicts that arose between his father and David. Jonathan did not choose a side simply out of obligation. It would be easy to look and say he should have been committed to his father because he was family, however his father was in the wrong. Jonathan allowed the truth to help him make the right decisions.

In life we may be conflicted by the demands of our relationships. It is important to remember that our ultimate loyalty is to God first. We should allow him to guide us through any challenges we may face. When you are faced with a situation that challenges your loyalty always let the truth guide your decisions.

Stay Blessed and Continue Warring for Christ!
