Our Vision

Blogging 4 Jesus 2013...

This vision includes reading the entire book of the bible in 1 year.  This means, reading the bible with a new and fresh perspective.  We as a group, figured that so many times we'll read through any other book but hesitate when is comes to the most important book...THE HOLY BIBLE.  There is no excuse why kids who have grown up in the church and whose lives are evidence of his miracles, have not read the entire bible.  We want to put an end to it now.

The vision came after numerous interventions from God.  I was woken up out of my sleep on numerous occasions, interrupted while studying for finals, and even interrupted in the shower.  God was trying to get my attention and he did just that.  I felt like there was no way to escape this idea and although I am scared and nervous, I know that God has a way of making everything work out for the good.  Also, our very own blogger, Christian was given a word from God saying that if we were obedient to him, then great things will happen.  This is no coincidence!!! With that being said, I prayed and asked God to lead me to the right people who would not only be blessed by doing his work, but also bless others by doing his work.  With that being said, God gave me 6 amazing individuals who were absolutely perfect.  Although God led me to 6 other amazing young adults, I also feared making others feel left out and so more planning commenced.

HOW IT WORKS:

This plan is a simple one.  There are 7 bloggers, each assigned to a different day of the week (7 days).  This means that a certain blogger will have to post their reactions after reading the assignment for that day before 7 pm.  I understand that everyone is busy, so this requires commitment.  The great part is that the readings take no more than 30 minutes a day, which is perfect to read during a commute, on lunch, or simply when you have idle time.  Every second of every single day is not being used so there is no excuse not to find time.  The bloggers are being asked to pray prior to reading and making a post, which includes praying for guidance, wisdom, understanding, and clarity.  It is important for us to realize that the bible is not an easy read, nor are the bloggers perfect so we have to seek guidance.  Accordingly, commenting on the blog is very important because it'll increase understanding and build stronger relationships through Christ.  Lastly, let's not forget that although it is not your day to post a blog, it is still your responsibility to read along daily.

Assigned Days:
For the purposes of the blog we have named the days of the week.  We want to build somewhat of personal relationships with those who visit the blog, as well as give them something to look forward to. The days were a collective effort and we have also linked them to bible scriptures that we felt would fit them perfectly.  They are as follows:

•   Salvation Sundays : Steven
2 Chronicles 6:41 "Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness."

•   Merciful Mondays : Jael
Deuteronomy 4:31 "(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them."

•   Transforming Tuesdays : Jamera
Romans 12:2  "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

•   Warrior Wednesdays : Brittney
Matthew 24:6  "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."

•   Thirsty Thursdays : Ron
John 6:35  "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."

•   Friday Fellowship : Christian
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

•   Saturday Sacrifice : Hannah
Romans 12:1  "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

Guest Bloggers:
Blogging4Jesus2013 is not just about the core bloggers.  This movement in God is about all of us, because that is his will.  In an effort to include everyone in his plan, we have decided that we will have guest bloggers!!!  They will be featured monthly and will be chosen at random after a theme/topic is decided upon to be discussed.  If you or anyone you know would want to be a guest blogger all they would have to do is email us after the topic is revealed along with a photo and what they believe is God's plan for their lives.  This is important because everyone's input is valued as long as it comports with the vision of this particular movement.

WHAT WE HOPE TO GET OUT OF THIS:

Our message is clear.  We want to allow God to use us for his glory.  We want to increase our understanding in Christ, build a deeper relationship with him, and lastly be obedient to his will.  We know that we are nothing without him and everything with him.  We want to be committed to him just as he is committed to us.  As a group we have also realized that we are in the end times and with all of this "craziness" and "chaos" if no time was the time to get closer to God, the time is now!  We also want to help others through their walk just as we look forward to you helping us.  We know that this walk is not an easy one but it is well worth it.  We also want to hold each other accountable to each other because we are all brothers and sisters through Christ which strengthens us.  We are not ashamed because we know where our help comes from.  We look forward to seeing God move through our communities, schools, jobs, churches, and homes.  Although this is a small start, we are trusting that this will make us closer to God like never before.
