Salvation Sunday: Running Back to You

Have you ever felt that you are like the prodigal son? Have you ever left God's presence thinking that you can handle the world? In Luke, Jesus talks about what a joy it is to save one’s soul. And then He goes on to talk about the prodigal son. He talks about how this son felt like He was prepared to deal with the real world. He felt like he needed no help from no one. Just as Christian was saying on Friday, his pride got in the way of his thinking. As a result, he failed and was eating with the pigs. So, through this, his pride caused him to go from being rich, wealthy and in high class to being on the same level as a pig. That is insane. Then, this son humbled himself and stepped out on faith. He realized that he needed to be with his father. So he decided to go back to where it all started as a servant. And the thing is he felt that he would not be able to go back to his father as it used to be. But, I think in life, that our pride blocks us from success at times. And then we realize that we need Jesus, our pride says that Jesus will not accept us. We keep hearing about how we're not worthy to be in the presence of God, but the reality is that when we lose our way, Jesus is trying so hard to get us to come back. It's so amazing how He loves us. All He keeps saying is come unto me.  Be blessed by this song, "Come Unto Me" by Christine Curtis.

I want to encourage you today that no matter what you've been through in your life, God is waiting to accept you back into His presence. He is waiting with His arms wide open. Honestly, I know that I can be really hard on myself. Every time I disobey God and I don't stay committed to His word, I always feel like God cannot forgive me. I feel like I cannot come back to God. I feel like I'm not worthy to be in His presence. And honestly that is the truth. According to my score, I'm not worthy to come back to Christ. But, the blood of Christ has wiped all those sins and He has forgiven everything in the past. And every time that His children leave the path, He goes out to look for them because He wants them to be by Him. God wants to lead His people but you just have to trust in God and let Him take control. Once I got over my pride, I realized how much God wanted me back in His presence.  And the only thing I could do was just to run back to the place where I first found my Savior.  Enjoy this song!! This song is a personal favorite.  All it's saying is that God please forgive me for leaving your side. I'm running back to You and please accept me back into Your arms.  "Running Back to You" by Commissioned.

Remember that you can always lean on the Lord!!! Psalm 20:7 "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. "

Have a blessed Sunday!!

  2. This is good Steven. So many times we can move from that place of humility and God's complete presence by feeling and thinking that our ways, thoughts and opinions are better than others and even of God's purpose in our lives. Thank you for reminding us that our strength lies in our humble walk with Christ and not in our own strength and self-reliance. Thank you also for sharing both songs. Beautiful!
