Weekly Devotional: Weather The Storm

At some point in our lives we will all go through some trial or tribulation. No it isn’t fun and a lot of times you may feel as if it isn’t even fair. It may last 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 years who knows. When these tough times arise, how do you react? Do you cower down and give in accepting defeat or do you stand firm knowing God is with you? As the saying goes Tough times don’t last, tough people do”. There is no tougher man than he who trust in the Lord wholeheartedly.

Many times when problems arise we feel overwhelmed. When things seem out of control and we cant seem to get a grasp of it we must understand that God has a hold of it. It is never out of his control. Our first reaction when a storm brews shouldn’t be to worry or be afraid but to PRAY. We cannot get to caught up in the situation that we forget to allow God to lead. Pray to be emotionally stable so you don’t allow emotion to get the best of you. Pray to be courageous so fear doesn’t over come you. Pray to fully TRUST in the Lord knowing he will make a way, he will guide you through. Stand firm.

47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:47-49
