There are certain scriptures in the Bible, which are good to commit to memory. These scriptures help to give us peace when we are going through a storm, and will help us overcome the enemy. One landmark scripture is Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” This scripture gives us hope when we are fighting spiritual battles because it assures us that we will WIN!

When I think of weapons I think of objects that can cause
pain and many times death. Throughout our walk with God we will face numerous
situations when weapons will come against us. Remember the scripture “the thief
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. “John 10:10 Therefore,
the devil is always using weapons to try and harm us. However, this scripture guarantees
if we are servants of the Lord NO WEAPON formed against us shall prosper.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their
righteousness is of me, saith the Lord
The denotation of the word heritage according to Webster is “something
possessed as a result of one’s natural situation or birth.” Since we are
servants of the Lord our “natural situation” allows the preceding lines in this
verse to be true. I like the word heritage because it is definite. One’s
heritage does not change, it is stable and unquestionable. Therefore, because
we serve God it is natural that no weapon formed against us shall prosper!
If you are going through a spiritual battle right now I pray
that you will use this scripture to enable you. Take confidence in God’s word!
You will overcome because NO WEAPON THAT IS FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER!
