iNspire2013 Photo Contest: 40-day Inspiration Challenge

We want to encourage and promote "INSPIRATIONAL" thinking across the globe. Whenever we read the Bible we are constantly reminded of God's grace, mercy, love, kindness, strength, and miracles that he has performed in the lives of others. As we read these stories, we should be constantly INSPIRED to: 

• Preach the gospel
• Share the love of Christ
• Be kind to our neighbors
• Love one another
• Be a blessing
• Encourage others

We thought it would be a great idea to show the world how inspired we are by having a 40-day iNspire Inspiration Fast. We chose 40 days because Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness and we are trying everyday to be more like Christ. Some of you may be hesitant to participate because of the term: "FAST." Don't fret! 

Why Is It Called Fasting?

Did you know that fasting is not always about not eating? Fasting is about focusing on God. When we fast our spirit becomes open and sensitive and it is a way to empty ourselves. It is our way of removing ourselves from temptation and drawing ourselves nearer to Christ. There are some people who choose to fast television or candy or movies. Then there are people who choose to fast meat or breads or even the radio. Personally we feel as though fasting is a doorway to do away with things that we regularly indulge in (things we feel we cannot live without) and find another outlet to connect with God.

We need to fast now more than ever. We need God more than ever. We are living in the end times. Life is not promised, but in the midst of everything that is going wrong we need to remember to lean on God. One of the things that we found was toxic to life and something that we all deal with is negative thinking. We want to do away with that and get into this notion of positive thinking. Positive thinking is faith. Positive thinking is inspiration. Inspiration is God. So for 2013, we want to say goodbye to negativity and hello to FAITH.

How Does This Work?

Starting September 1, 2013 to October 10, 2013 we want to take over all of the social networks (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and post INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGES CORRELATING WITH BIBLICAL VERSES. It's similar to a photo challenge. We want to see and hear how God has shown up in your lives using photos and captions, all while you inspire others to turn away from the world and turn towards God. Why??? Well 2 Corinthians 4:15 states, "All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory." People deserve to know how good God has been in your life. This is not something that needs to be hidden - it would be selfish of you not to share. 

Every Wednesday a winner will be selected and awarded with gift that symbolizes a token of our appreciation. We will choose the winner based off of who we feel inspired us the most and that winner will be featured on this blog with their photo/caption. We encourage you to get out there and spread the gospel!!!
