Saturday Sacrifice: When the Saints go marching in, Oh How I want to be in that Number!...

[  I know someone wrote about Jesus’ second coming already (SECOND COMING= Jesus coming back for his people and taking them to heaven to reign with him forever), but this is a very important topic so I’m going to write about it again. =) ]

Feel like time is flying so fast these days, I know I do!...Honestly, I feel like this summer is just flying by. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or what lol. But, time is truly moving at a fast pace.

In Mark it says, 20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

So, God has shortened the days for the believer’s benefit…It’s almost like God is letting us leave fifteen minutes early to go home from work, and who doesn’t like to go home early??? =)

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert[e]! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.

God instructs us to keep watch; to be ready for his return. However, at the same time he tells us that we have an assigned task. What is this assigned task? Everyone has one; this assigned task is our life’s purpose.

In addition, to the talents and skills God gives us to live life, and to use for his glory. Our purpose is also to live our life for him and him alone. Like Ron said on Thursday, the two greatest commandments that God gives us are to love him with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

We can’t just sit around and wait until Jesus returns or until we pass away. Jesus wants us to live our life for him (love him with all you heart, soul, and mind), and use our gifts and talents to spread God’s good news to others (love our neighbors as ourselves).

At the same time he wants us to be ready for his coming. He wants our relationship with him to be red hot like that candy hot tamales.

“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

Stay in God’s peace, not in pieces =)
