Omnipotent simply put almighty or all-powerful. God is
omnipotent. His power is unlimited and his ability is infinite, there isn’t
anything he cannot do. Todays’ reading is just another wonderful example of
this.
In Mark chapter 5 we read about Jesus restoring a demon
possessed man. “2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit
came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one
could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained
hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No
one was strong enough to subdue him. “ This man was possessed and not even iron
chains could keep him tied down. “No one was strong enough to subdue him”. Yet
when he saw Jesus he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. “8 For Jesus
had said to him, come out of this man, you impure spirit…and he begged Jesus
again and again not to send him out of the area…” Not only was Jesus able to
cast the demons out of the man but the demons begged Jesus to send them into a
heard of pigs that was nearby. They asked Jesus for his permission. Jesus being
omnipotent had authority over these demons, they needed his permission to even
inhabit pigs.
God can do all things. Don’t ever doubt him or count him
out. There isn’t a situation he cant get you out of. There isn’t a problem to
large, complex or difficult for him to solve. He can perform miracles, he can
deliver you from your circumstance, he can restore you. We as human beings are
bound to certain limitations, there are restrictions to the things we can and
cannot do but God is omnipotent and has no restraints. Never feel as if
you have no solution to your problem. Whatever your situation may be however
long it may have gone on, God can restore you. There will always be a way
through God. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil 4:13
